          Antonio Salviati, a Venetian soffiato glass twin handled pedestal vase, Salviati & C., circa 1890, the amethyst baluster body with optic moulded ribs and dimples, twisted handles and applied band to the shoulder, on a hollow reeded knop and inverse baluster stem and folded foot, 30cm high Note: Salviati's designs combined traditional Murano blowing techniques with a new Arts and Crafts interpretation of historical forms, which later influenced other Italian designers such as Vittorio Zecchin for Venini Cappellin in the 1920s.

          “Fantasy style (revived by Antonio Salviati (1816-1890) in the late 19th century). Figural stem of a full figure sea horse in pale salmon, clear and blue. Yellow base with blue rim and oil spattered decoration. Ruffle top goblet in pale yellow with oil spattered flecks. Clear wafers attach sections. Measures 13 ½ inches tall. Unsigned.

          Antonio SALVIATI (1816-1890), attribué à Carafe couverte à deux anses en verre soufflé transparent. Corps sphérique, anses courbes. Long col droit entouré d’un filet de verre bleu rudenté. Huit filets de verre bleu crantés à la pince disposés en côtes de melon au pourtour du corps et lisses sous la base. Cul rentrant en cône au pontil (fêlée, recollée sans bouchon). H. 30 cm., D. 15 cm. On y joint également une carafe couverte à une anse en verre soufflé transparent. Corps sphérique, anse courbe. Long col droit entouré d’un filet de verre jaune rudenté. Six filets de verre jaune crantés à la pince disposés en côtes de melon au pourtour du corps et lisses sous la base. Fêlée et recollée. H. 28,5 cm., D. 17 cm. On y joint également une coupe en forme de coquille en verre à ton marron. Jambe formant deux lianes spiroïdales à l’amortissement desquelles se trouvent des fleurs en verre à ton jaune. Pied rond. H. 22 cm., D. 9,2 cm. Probablement Murano XIXe siècle. En l’état. L’entreprise de verrerie d’Antonio Salviati (1816-1890) fut fondée à Murano au XIXème siècle, également installée à Londres elle y produisit pour les amateurs de l’époque victorienne des verres d’un remarquable raffinement dans la grande tradition de Venise. Sa société qui lui survécut, fut rachetée en 1999 par la cristallerie d’Arques. London 13 luglio 1889. Formato 24,5x17 cm. Piccola effige laterale del leone alato, simbolo del capoluogo veneto. L’imprenditore vicentino Antonio Salviati (1816-1890) fu uno dei principali artefici della rinascita del vetro artistico veneziano e dei mosaici di Murano. Nel 1866, insieme ad un archeologo e ad un antiquario inglesi, fondò la Venice & Murano Glass & Mosaic Company, nota più semplicemente come la Compagnia di Venezia e Murano. Cinque anni più tardi, nel 1877, Salviati uscì dalla società per fondare una ditta tutta sua, la Salviati Dott. Antonio in cui lo seguirono i maestri vetrai Barovier che, alla sua morte, acquisirono l’azienda creando la firma F.lli Barovier.
