    Silber. Zeitlos moderne, rechteckige, mittig leicht segentbogenförmige Form. Gest. 800 und Werkstattmarke E. Roth. Gew. ca. 72 g. 8 cm x 7 cm. Die jüdischstämmige Emmy Roth (1885 Hattingen - 1942 Tel Aviv) war eine der bedeutendsten und zugleich ersten selbstständigen Silberschmiedinnen und Metalldesignerinnen der Moderne. Um 1907/08 (oder um 1916) gründete sie eine eigene Werkstatt in Berlin-Charlottenburg, die bis zu ihrer Emigration 1933 bestand. Roth lieferte Entwürfe für die Silberwarenfabrik Peter Bruckmann & Söhne in Heilbronn, in ihrer eigenen Werkstatt fertigte sie Schmuck, Besteck, Gebrauchsgeräte und jüdische Ritualgegenstände aus Silber in verschiedenen Legierungen, Messing und Neusilber an, teilw. in Kombination mit Elfenbein. Sie entwickelte einen am Werkbund und Bauhaus orientierten sachlich-funktionalen Stil, verband handwerkliche Perfektion mit höchst moderner Formgebung. Um 1925-1933 gehörte Roth zu den regelmäßigen Ausstellern der Grassimesse in Leipzig, 1927 beteiligte sie sich an der legendären Ausstellung" Europäisches Kunstgewerbe" in Leipzig, 1931 an der Deutschen Bauausstellung in Berlin und 1937 an der Weltausstellung in Paris.     Emmy Roth Silberkernstück mit Tablett um 1930, gestempelt Halbmond, Krone, 800 sowie Künstlersignet, handgetrieben, die Ränder nach unten bzw. oben umgebördelt und verstärkt, die Kanne mit seitlich scharniertem Klappdeckel, die Isolierscheiben und der Knaufeinsatz aus Elfenbein, sehr guter Originalzustand, H Kanne 20 cm, D Tablett 34 cm, G zusammen ca. 1686 g. Künstlerinfo: Emmy Roth (12. Mai 1885 Hattingen bis 11. Juli 1942 Tel Aviv) machte eine Ausbildung zur Gold- und Silberschmiedin bei der Düsseldorfer Silberschmiedefirma Conrad Anton Beumers und absolvierte vermutlich eine Meisterprüfung (nur in wenigen Berufen für Frauen damals möglich) und weitere Ausbildung bei anderen Firmen. Sie entwarf unter anderem für die Silberwarenfabrik Bruckmann & Söhne Heilbronn und betrieb eine eigene Werkstatt in Charlottenburg zwischen 1923 und 1933. Condition There is minor wear to the surface of the pieces through age and use. The handle for the pot was once broken and has since been repaired, and a minor chip was lost from the wood base of the handle. Otherwise, the set is in good condition. Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
