      CLARENCE CLARK ROSENKRANZ American, 1871-1959 Panoramic view of the Serengeti, Africa. Signed lower right 'C.C. Rosenkranz'. 'The highlight of his career was a commission in 1927 to paint murals for the displays at the American Museum of Natural History in New York. The museum sent Rozenkranz to Asia and Africa to make studies of the natural habitat in preparation for creating the displays. He was also commissioned to paint murals for the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia'. Coen, Rena Neumann, Information from Minnesota Impressionists. Afton Historical Society Press, 1996. It is possible that this piece is a study executed for this project. Oil on canvas, 14" x 41". Framed.
