      (1910 Budapest - 1998 London) attr.; Orpheus mit Dame in den Überresten einer antiken Welt Der ungarisch-stämmige Künstler lebte bis zum Zweiten Weltkrieg in Wien und siedelte danach nach London über. Sein Frühwerk stellt einen faszinierenden, leider zu wenig beachteten Beitrag zur Wiener Malerei um 1930 dar. In einem dem phantastischen Realismus nahe stehenden Malstil schuf er figurenreiche Szenerien mit sozialkritischem Ansatz, die an Otto Dix erinnern. Das sehr interessante Aquarell, das dieser Phase zuzuordnen ist, zeigt zwei spärlich bekleidete Personen, möglicherweise den Sänger Orpheus mit einer Prostituierten, in einer Landschaft mit antiken Überresten lagernd. Ronays Werk wird von der Ben Uri Art Gallery, dem Jüdischen Museum in London, erforscht und ausgestellt. Federzeichnung mit Aquarell/Papier, um 1930. 33,5 cm x 45,5 cm (Passepartoutausschnitt). Rahmen. Attributed to Marcel Ronay (1910 - 1998). Ink drawing and water colour on paper.
