    • JAROSLAV RÓNA 1957 - BIRDS AND STARS II.
      Jun. 06, 2024

JAROSLAV RÓNA 1957 - BIRDS AND STARS II.

      Est: -

Jaroslav Róna is undoubtedly one of the most important representatives of the 1980s generation, the author of several significant public space realisations (the Franz Kafka Monument in Prague) and a member of the group Tvrdohlaví (since 1987). Jaroslav Róna's works are particularly attractive to the viewer. There is always a bit of hyperbole in them, a slightly ironic approach to the world, and at the same time it is able to encompass existential themes and questions of the transformation of society over time. Newly framed under anti-reflective glass with UV filter. Technique: pastel, tempera, cardboard, Signed: sign. lower left: Róna 88

JAROSLAV RÓNA 1957 - THEY ARE AMONG US

      Est: -

The works of Jaroslav Róna are especially attractive to the audience. They radiate tension and drama and man's struggle with being, where he was thrown without his own intervention. He has to endure various situations, deal with them, with the awareness of his own finiteness, and in the case of the submitted work, They are among us with the fact that he may not be alone in the universe or that he is not the master of all creation. Jaroslav Róna is undoubtedly one of the most important representatives of the generation of the 1980s, the author of several significant realizations in public space (Franz Kafka Monument in Prague) and is also a member of the Tvrdohlaví group (since 1987). He belongs to the leading representatives of Czech postmodernism. Technique: Oil, canvas, Signed: Lower left "Róna 99"

Jaroslav Róna (*1957) UNDER VIADUCT. 2014. Oil on canvas, 80x100 cm, signed on the reverse. Example of author’s last years of painting in which he presents recipients with mysterious, surrealistically harmonized night scene. The scene under viaduct may evoke a hiding place against night air strikes which corresponds with author’s orientation of his last years from World War II. Výjev pod viaduktem koresponduje s autorovým zaměřením aktuální tvorby rezonující pocity strachu a napětí, jejichž nevyčerpatelný zdroj nachází v motivech z II. světové války. Jaroslav Róna (*1957) UNTER DEM VIADUKT. 2014. Öl auf Leinwand, 80x100 cm, verso sign.

Jaroslav Róna (*1957) SALAMANDER – ARENA. 1986. Tempera and dispersion on canvas, 115x95 cm, signed and dated lower left, framed. Work follows shortly after the artist’s two paintings: Human and Elephant’s Foot and Space Dog, in which the author already finds his distinctive fantasy embossed and monumental handwriting. Specific technique was for the author in that time solution to the situation, in which oil colours were too expensive and acrylic ones were not available yet. Jaroslav Róna (*1957) MLOK - ARÉNA. 1986. Tempera a disperze na plátně, 115x95 cm, sign. a dat. vlevo dole, rámováno.
