Kolling 95‘ 48.5 x 112.5 cm Very good condition This evening interior shows a couple, talking; the lady has her back turned to the viewer; she is wearing a dress, which would have been quite fashionable around the turn of the century; the man is wearing a suit, holding a cigar and a newspaper as he gives the lady a friendly glance. There is a small arrangement of tulips on the table. The painting is signed and dates lower left ‘l. Kolling 95’. The painting and the frame are in good condition with slight age-related signs of wear; the painting measures 48.5 x 112.5 cm in frame. Ingeborg Rode, née Kolling (1835-1932) The figure and portrait painter Ingeborg Rode was born on the 25th of September in 1865 in Copenhagen. Née Kolling, she was a student of Ferdinand Larsen and Viggo Johansen, later she married Gotfred Rode. The artist is particularly known for her portraits and figure paintings; exhibitions with her works took place for example in Copenhagen and Berlin.
