          Italian Micromosaic Table Top

          Italian Micromosaic Table Top Cesare Roccheggiani, 19th century Of circular form, with a central scene depicting the Doves of Pliny, within a lapis lazuli band surrounded by eight smaller wedge-shaped scenes depicting architectural views of Italy, within a Greek Key and malachite band. Diameter 22 inches. Estimate $4,000-6,000 Table top was once fully broken in half and subsequently was professionally repaired., i.e., glued back together, areas infilled along the restored area. There are small split lines to portions of the narrow malachite bands and, apparently, some small areas of infilling. Light surface scratches and nicks here and there. It appears there has been a restoration to a small area of the interior lapis band, which is approximately 1/4 in. by 1/2 in. There are two partial circular paper labels affixed to the reverse side. There are three drill holes to the underside.
