      Sheila Robinson (1925-1988) ▴ Sheila Robinson (1925-1988) Ploughing the fields linocut image 15.5 x 12cm The original block was made in Great Bardfield in the early 1960s. Five copies were reprinted from the original block by Linda Richardson in 2014 with the permission of Chlöe Cheese, Sheila Robinson's daughter. Provenance: Bought from Linda Richardson in May 2010. Condition Report: Framed: 21 x 24cm Some small black dots to the lower left and upper right corners, it is unclear if this is ink or speckles of dirt, please see images. A light crease to the upper right corner. Well presented. Unexamined out of glazed frame.

      § Sheila Robinson (British, 1925-1988) Bib Cat on a chair signed lower right "Sheila Robinson 1968" and numbered 7/40 linocut h:42 w:38 cm Other Notes: A renowned illustrator and member of the Great Bardfield Artists, Sheila Robinson studied at the Royal College of Art, where she came under the influence of Edward Bawden. An accomplished printmaker, she produced advertising posters, developed her work in card-cut illustration and taught at the Royal College of Art. She married the artist, Bernard Cheese, by whom she had a daughter - the well-known illustrator and printmaker, Chloe Cheese.
