Rizzi, James (1950-2011) "Good news we´re taking a cruise", 2010, Original auf Leinwand. Werkverzeichnis-Nr. Z51134. Rückseitig von James Rizzi handsigniert. Format 25 x 50,5 cm. Außenmaße Rahmen 39 x 65 cm. Standort: Engen Rizzi, James (1950-2011) "Good news we're taking a cruise", 2010, original on canvas. Rizzi is best known for his colourful, cheerful and unique works. He developed an unmistakable style that combined Pop Art and Naïve Art and is often referred to as "3D Pop Art". His breakthrough came in the 1970s when he created three-dimensional prints that creatively emphasised his characteristically vibrant, childlike motifs. These "3D editions" became his trademark. His works, which often depict New York city scenes and cheerful, colourfully populated worlds, focus on the fun of life. He also developed numerous art projects beyond the canvas, such as aircraft designs for the German airline Condor or the design of entire building facades. James Rizzi was an artist who reached a wide audience with his optimistic and playful style. He remained a defining figure of modern pop art until his death in 2011. His unique works, including paintings, sculptures and graphics, are still sought-after collector's items today. In 2008, James Rizzi collaborated with the Italian cruise company AIDA and created a unique ship design for them. Rizzi's design gave the ship, AIDAblu, a particularly eye-catching and cheerful look. He adorned the cruise ship with his characteristic colourful and playful motifs depicting happy faces, suns, hearts and cities. These illustrations were intended to convey the positive and vibrant atmosphere associated with cruising and travelling. The design was an extraordinary collaboration and brought Rizzi's art to the sea. It showed how his work could work not only on canvases or in galleries, but also on large objects such as a cruise ship, and emphasised his versatility as an artist. Record no. Z51134. Signed on the reverse by James Rizzi. Size 25 x 50.5 cm. Outer frame d
