Signed lower left, titled 'Texas Grain Fields' verso on the frame, purchaser's note on back is dated 1965, board measures 9.5 x 20, frame measures 16 x 26.5 inches. According to a posting on AskArt.com, Reynolds began painting in 1925, and except for a short period at the Chicago Art Institute and a brief study with John Elliot Jenkins, he is self-taught. A notation verso states that the piece was purchased from the artist at his Santa Fe Gallery.
