Artist: FRANCISCO VERGARA REYES Size: 35 1/4 x 102 in./89.6 x 259 cm Virgen de las Azucenas, Madrid "Immense Succes," this epic 4-sheet proclamation begins: it's a follow-up poster to the previous one, announcing a second "Running of the Bulls" at the Paris World's Fair of 1900. Note, in particular, the odd faces engaged in their own strange tableau, above the headline lettering, as they drink wine while watching the bullfight. In an excellent example of bi-national cooperation, the art, design and printing were accomplished in Spain, using woodblock-engraved text from Morris, Paris. (Sports )
