"Gloucester: Unloading Fish" Oil by John Rettig

A dock scene, with fish containers, and a more scarce American subject for Rettig, who was oft to execute Dutch subjects, which were received with much favor in CIncinnati. With plaque on frame, likely framed by Suder's or Traxel in Cincinnati, and with a Taft Museum exhibition label and an obituary to verso. Also included is a letter of correspondence to a Mr. John Dinkelaker (Cincinnati collector) describing his new exhibit of Marblehead and other works. 5.5" x 8.5" (sight), 12" x 15" (framed).
