    Framed Facsimile of the "Perspective View of the Blockade of Boston, 1768," after Christian Remick (American, 1726-1773), Massachusetts Historical Society, publisher, c. 1960s, the image printed in color is after a watercolor executed by Christian Remick who was an American sailor and artist who painted at least six versions of the scene which depicts British warships lying at anchor off Long Wharf, with their troops disembarking from the vessels, which was the reaction of the British Prime Minister to the town of Boston, which was showing resistance to Britain by boycotting British goods in protest against the Townshend Acts, which were laws which included new taxes on paint, lead, tea, and paper, 9 1/2 x 27 1/2 in.

Little and Nina Fletcher Little (Sotheby's New York, 29 January 1994, lot 167; note on paper jelly label by Nina Fletcher Little: "By Christian Remick b. Eastham 1736 signed:Drawn by C. Remick 1772") NOTE Christian Remick was born in Eastham, Massachusetts in 1736. he advertised in the 1769 Massachusetts Gazette that he specialized in "sea pieces, perspective views, plans of harbors...." A master mariner Remick was a lieutenant in the Revolutionary War on the Brigantine Tyrassiade of the Massachusetts Navy.
