    MARY REEVES (FL 1877-1906) "In fine fresh condition, undisturbed in contemporary early 20th c oak moulded frame FUNERAL BESIDE THE ROUND TOWER ARDMORE CO. WATERFORD watercolour and bodycolour, 61.5 x 46.5cm" Provenance: By descent in the artist's family to the present vendor. The Reeves are an ancient Anglo-Irish family originally seated at Besborough, Co. Clare." Mary Reeves, who lived at Douglas near Cork, exhibited Irish and Continental landscapes at the NWS and Suffolk Street in the 1870s and '80s and at several Irish Societies from 1877 to 1900." Ardmore Round Tower is at the centre of a monastic site, 14 miles SW of Dungarvan. The monastery was believed to have been founded by St Declan in the 5th century. Parts of the Round Tower date date from the 10th to the 12th century."
