      Marion Estelle Churchill Raulston (1883-1955), "A Basque", oil on canvas, 40 x 30", frame: 45.5 x 35.75" Born in Sun River, MT on March 24, 1882.  Marion Churchill was the daughter of a prominent banker in Great Falls.  She received her early education at the exclusive Marlborough School for Girls in Los Angeles.  Her art training was at the Pratt Institute, Otis Art Institute, and with Skarbina in Germany.  Married twice, earlier to David McCartney and later to Dr. Burrell Raulston.  Most of her life was spent as a resident of Los Angeles and Pasadena where she died on Sept. 26, 1955.  As well as portraits, her subjects also include adobes and other early California buildings. Member: Nat'l Ass'n of Women Painters & Sculptors; Laguna Beach AA; Society for Sanity in Art.
