David James Quantrill Sold at Auction Prices

b. 1938 -

David James Quantrill, was born at 4 Old Market Street, Lowestoft, Suffolk on 11 July 1938, son of James Willam Quantrill (2 November 1898-1967), dock labourer, and his wife Elsie Elizabeth née Woolterton (27 November 1901-1949), who married at Lowestoft in 1922. David studied at Lowestoft College of Art. A painter in all media, notably acrylic and is a member and exhibitor at the Beccles Society of Artists.

More recently his painting has entered a new phase, having moved on from his more traditional figurative style to his new work of abstract expressionism. He has had solo exhibitions at Frederick Gallery; King of Hearts; Ferini Gallery, Pakefield; Great Yarmouth Ex Galleries and John Russell Gallery, Ipswich and regular shows at the Pastel Society; New English Art Club; Royal Society of Marine Artists; Eastern Open Exhibition, and 'Drawings for All' at Gainsborough's House, Sudbury; Mall Galleries; New English Art Club; Royal Society of Marine Artists as well as many local galleries. He married in 1964 Angela J. Rouse and they live at 18 Carlton Square, Lowestoft.
