GARY LEE PRICE "PIN HIGH" BRONZE SCULPTURE

    Est: -

Gary Lee Price (Born 1955) "Pin High" Bronze Sculpture. Challenge, perseverance, dedication: three words that describe the mindset necessary to excel in golf, as well as these same attributes are needed to master life. This young fellow is taking his natural talent and hours of practice in anticipation of that perfect golf shot – “Pin High” – tap in for birdie. In life, as well as golf, there are unseen obstacles and challenges that can be overcome as we strive for excellence. Known for a wide array of sculpture subjects, Gary Price creates children, wildlife, Native Americans, and bas reliefs of floral subjects. He is best known for images of young people in the celebration of life. The work ranges in size from a foot high to an outdoor monumental and reflects his Mormon Church heritage, not in a literal doctrinal sense, but in an overall positive expression of respect and love for life. His goal is to uplift the human spirit through sculpture. In 1991, Price was elected a member of the National Sculpture Society, and in 2002 he received the Governor's Mansion Artist Award for visual art from Utah Governor Michael Leavitt. His works are included in public and private collections throughout the world, including the Church of Latter-Day Saints Museum of Church History and Art, the Springville Museum of Art, the Culver Military Academy in Culver, Indiana, the American Schools in Surrey, England, the Westside Preparatory School in Chicago, Illinois, and the Rich De Voss Women's and Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In excellent condition, signed and numbered 7/30. Measures 22" x 22" x 19", weighs 120 pounds. Gallery cost $13,860. *Description below from the Gary Lee Price Gallery website Bronze sculpture of ancient man seeking wisdom One of my fundamental philosophies about life is what this sculpture is all about. “When we quit learning, we quit living.” The ability to remember and apply this principle throughout ones life, I believe, is a major key to happiness. Changing and growing represent upward movement and we all possess that power. The ability to listen and draw upon the many sources of inspiration that constantly surround us determines our growth. The individual that succumbs to close-mindedness and short-sidedness closes the door to vision itself, and with vision or the ability to see beyond, we can overcome anything. Although well along in years, this person who could easily be our mentor, prefers to be the student.
