    Gelatin silver print on baryta paper, later print Beat Presser (b. 1952) – Swiss photographer Signed ‘Beat Presser’ and dated, titled and inscribed ‘Paris / 1976 / Klaus Kinski / by / Beat Presser“ as well as ‘Selenium Toned / Silver Gelatine / Print’ on verso in pencil Image dimensions: 36 x 24 cm; sheet dimensions: 40.5 x 30.3 cm Framed: 55 x 42.5 Povenance: Private collection, Eastern Germany Beat Presser worked with the eccentric actor Klaus Kinski for many years and documented among other things the making of the films Fitzcarraldo and Cobra Verde Object is taxed regularly. 19% VAT is added to the purchase price for deliveries within the EU. Condition: The black and white print is in overall good condition. There is a small faint stain in the left margin. The sheet slightly wavy due to technique and is hinged to a mat at the reverse upper corners. The frame is in good condition with only minor signs of wear. Beat Presser (born 1952) Born in Basel the photographer began in 1973 an apprenticeship as a photo assistant to fashion photographer Onorio Mansutti that he continued in 1974 in Paris with Peter Knapp, also a fashion photographer. A training as assistant cameraman followed. Pressler's first solo exhibition was shown at a gallery in Basel in 1976, his first volume appeared in 1983. Other books, among others basing on Pressler’s close cooperation with director Werner Herzog and actor Klaus Kinski in the 1980s, and international exhibitions followed. The sheet is faintly wavy due to technique. It is hinged to a mat. The frame is in good condition, too, with only slight signs of use. The image measures 23.9 x 35.9 cm, the sheet 30.2 x 40.6 cm. The framed dimensions are 43 x 54.3 cm.
