Ruhig liegt die Mündung des Canal Grande vor dem Betrachter und in flottem Pinselduktus ist nicht nur die hinten abschließende Kirche Santa Maria Salute und die gegenüber liegende Piazetta mit der Markus- und Georgssäule, sondern auch der Dogenpalast mit einer reichen Figurenstaffage, die in ihrer teils tänzelnden Bewegtheit dem Pinselstrich des bekannten Malers entspricht. Giuseppe Ponga (Chioggia 1856 - Venezia 1925) Arsenale di Venezia Olio su tavola 24,5 x 35 cm Diplomatosi all'Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia fu il cantore, nei decenni tra Otto e Novecento, del vedutismo veneziano del secolo XVIII in particolare di Francesco Guardi e Canaletto. Abile e versatile si dedicò, oltre alla canonica pittura ad olio, alle più svariate tecniche pittoriche, come la decorazione murale, l'acquerello e la miniatura. Ebbe diversi incarichi di rilievo che lo videro operoso in alcune sale del Palazzo Reale di Venezia, nel Palazzo del Parlamento a Budapest e nella famosa decorazione del Caffè Quadri in Piazza San Marco a Venezia. VENEDIG – FEST DES HEILIGEN MARKUS AM 25. APRIL Öl auf Leinwand. 63 x 93 cm. Rechts unten signiert „Ponga“. In dekorativem Rahmen. Unter hohem sonnigem Himmel mit wenigen weißen Wolkenformationen, vor der Silhouette von Venedig die Regata dei Traghetti, die auf dem ruhigen Wasser zwischen der Insel Sant‘Elena und der Punta della Dogana am Eingang zum Canal Grande stattfindet. Mit diesem Fest am 25. April erinnert Venedig an seinen Schutzpatron, den Heiligen Markus. Auf dem ruhigen Wasser eine Überzahl an prachtvollen Schiffen, Booten und Gondeln mit vielen Figuren, überwiegend in festlicher barocker Kleidung, teils mit weißen Perücken. Das Gemälde ganz in der Bildtradition der Werke von Giovanni Antonio Canal (1697-1768), genannt Canaletto, geschaffen. Malerei in überwiegend blau-weißen und gold-braunen Farbtönen. Anmerkung: Das Gemälde ist ganz in der Bildtradition der Werke von Antonio Canal, genannt Canaletto, geschaffen. Die beiliegende Expertise von Dario Succi, Gorizia, nennt hierbei mehrere Meister, die in dieser Stilrichtung gearbeitet haben, bereits im ausgehenden 18. Jahrhundert beginnend mit Giovanni Migliara und dann eben mit den Malern der Familie Ponga (Giuseppe oder Luca Ponga) und anderen Künstlern dieser Stilrichtung. Dabei ist zu beobachten, dass die Farbskala des vorliegenden Bildes auch Stimmungseinflüsse von Guardi übernommen hat. Expertise: Beiliegend die oben genannte Expertise.
