Angelo Pioppo Art for Sale at Auction

b. 1986 -

A graduate of the École du Louvre and a member of the famous Taylor Foundation created in 1844, Angelo Pioppo is a French artist born in 1986, whose promising talent has drawn the attention of the public and that of collectors.

Inspired by his many travels around the globe, his artistic endeavours take many shapes. Angelo Pioppo started his career as a photojournalist, and then pursued his creative passion and began painting and drawing.

Inspired by the precursors of contemporary art, and in particular by the creators of pop art and neo-expressionism of the New York scene, Angelo Pioppo pays tribute to them in expressive and structured original creations.

Thus, paying hommage to these artists, he revisits Andy Warhol's Campbell's Tomato Soup Cans, adapting them to the present by tackling contemporary issues, and condemning the excesses of our century's consumer society. This is how his new soup cans - "Cocaine", "Subprime Crisis", "Molotov Cocktail" or "Plutonium" - come to life...

Angelo Pioppo's super colorful and uncompromising work is marked by a certain transgression that constantly invites the spectator to reflection and to daydream.
