    Max Pinchinat (Haitian, 1925-1985) Untitled (Seated Figure), dated 9-3-62, Oil on canvas, 39 1/4 x 28 1/2 in. Framed 40 5/8 x 30 in. Provenance: Evelyn and Leon Chalom Collection Lot Essay: A trained military man, Pinchinat joined the Centre d'Art in 1947 where he remained until 1950 when, with DieudonneŽ Cedor, Luckner Lazard and Lucien Price, he was a co-founder of the Foyer des arts plastiques. He would continue his art career alternately in Haiti and France. Pinchinat's interest in abstraction and re-imagining cubism is evident in his still lives and portraits.
