    "Was ist Frauenmode" Öl auf Leinwand. 1987. 88,2 x 62,5 cm. Unten links mit Pinsel in Weiß und Orange signiert "Arkadi Petrov", sowie verso ebenfalls signiert, datiert und betitelt. Die Motive von Petrovs Kunst sind vom Leben und der Kultur der Sowjetunion in der Mitte des Zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts geprägt. Er interpretiert die Stereotypen der sowjetischen Gesellschaft neu, indem er sie in einen Mantel von Kitsch mit Werbeplakatcharakter, naiv und episch zugleich , kleidet. Die Bilder der nationalen Massenkultur reichen von bemalten Postkarten bis zu Portraits der russisch-sowjetischen Estrada-Sängerin und Komponistin Alla Pugatschowa.
