Important recueil de 158 planches dessinées et gravées par Adam Pérelle, Pierre Aveline ou non signées, comportant pour la plupart l'excudit de Nicolas de Poilly. Il ne comporte pas de titre. On trouve dans cet exemplaire une soixantaine de vues du château et des jardins de Versailles et une trentaine des places et monuments de Paris ; les autres gravures représentant les châteaux de Marly, Saint-Cloud, Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Meudon, Vaux-le-Vicomte, Fontainebleau, Chantilly, Liancourt, etc. Ex-libris manuscrit sur une garde : À Jean Nicolas Vincent. Petit ex-libris circulaire non identifié au contreplat supérieur. Acquaforte. mm 455x553. Foglio: mm 653x940. Sulla lastra in basso a destra "AD Perel Sc". Da un disegno di Sébastien Pontault de Beaulieu (1612-1674) ingegnere militare e disegnatore attivo sotto il regno di Louis XIII e di Louis XIV. La stampa è stata realizzata su tre lastre, una per la parte superiore con il medaglione, una per la parte in basso e una per l'elaborata cornice ornamentale. Il rame in basso (mm 165x500) raffigura la veduta di Portolongone presa dal mare, animata da galeoni, con le scogliere e la fortezza e in alto il titolo e la data "1646" (da riferire non all'esecuzione ma alla cattura del forte da parte dei Francesi). Il rame della parte superiore (mm 246 x 500), invece, è costituito semplicemente da un grande ovale centrale, senza ritratto, sostenuto ai lati da un enorme festone di alloro e nastri. Probabilmente l'incisione era stata preparata per glorificare Luigi XIV per l'impresa della conquista dell'Elba, poi rimasta incompiuta perché nel 1650 l'isola venne riconquistata dagli Spagnoli. (1)
