    Oil on canvas board, 39 x 32.5cm (image), 50.5 x 44cm (frame). Signed 'E. Lilian Pedersen'. Some paint loss, yellowing and spots, plus wear to frame. The reverse with a feature article and artist photograph affixed from The Courier Mail (14 June 1972). Available for local pickup, otherwise courier to be arranged and paid for by bidder. Born in Leicester, England in 1898, Pederson trained at Manchester College of Art before arriving in Australia in the early decades of the 20th century. She was a founding member of Brisbane's Half Dozen Group of Artists and was its honorary secretary for 31 years. Adept at many mediums, Pedersen's arts practice was highly interdisciplinary and ranged from painting in oil and watercolour, to manuscript illumination, weaving, embroidery and jewellery making. Pedersen's work is held by Queensland Art Gallery (QAGOMA) and in numerous private collections.
