    FRANTISEK PECINKA (Czech / Bohemian 1869 - 1917) - Motif from Slovakia

    Est: -

1899 | technique: oil on canvas | 38 x 62.5 cm | signature: bottom right | framed Lot description The work from 1899 depicts a typical scene from Slovacko, where the painter emphasizes the picturesqueness of the local villages with their characteristic houses with thatched roofs. Bright light and a fresh color palette give the work liveliness and optimism, which is typical for Pecink's work. A woman in costume walking along a country road with a goose completes the atmosphere of everyday life in the Moravian countryside. This painting is an example of Pecink's interest in folklore and his effort to capture the traditional way of life in an authentic form.

    FRANTIŠEK PEČINKA 1869 - 1917 - BIRCHES IN AUTUMN

    Est: -

František Pečinka was one of the first Czech painters to experiment with the technique of Impressionism and Pointillist painting. F. X. Jiřík characterized his works as follows: "Pečinka's art has a purpose in itself and stems from sensory impulses. Reflections and intellectual constructions we do not find logical and calculated in him, nor also mechanical imitation, copying nature. P. is an artist too emotional to not imprint the character of his soft sensitive temperament. " František Pečinka applied sharp tones to the canvas directly from the tube and tried to create a vivid and richly colored impression, which characterized nature in all its possibilities. Technique: Oil on canvas, Signed: Lower left "F. Pečinka"
