    J. Paul Getty ALS Concerning His Oil Business 1p, measuring 5.75" x 8.25", Geneva, dated December 26, 1956. Signed "Paul" and addressed to "Bill", written on Hotel des Bergues stationery. With a flattened mail fold at the center. Boldly signed. The letter concerns records related to the Getty Oil business, reading in full: "Please send me the E log and history of 51. Best regards and Happy New Year to everyone. Wish I were back in the Gore. Also E logs and marker depths, such as base of crt Anly. - Sea level KB elev. on S 4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16 by return mail."  Jean Paul Getty (1892-1976) was an American businessman and industrialist who inherited a large oil company from his father. In 1914, his father gave him $10,000 to invest in oil field holdings in Oklahoma, and within a year, he was a millionaire. In 1949, he invested in mineral rights in Saudi Arabia and spent $30 million before gaining any return, but in 1953, it began producing millions of barrels of oil, making Getty one of the richest people in the world. He acquired several oil companies and in 1967 merged them into Getty Oil. At the time of his death in 1976, he was worth more than $2 billion.
