Provenienz: Vom Vorbesitzer direkt im Atelier des Künstlers erworben. - Vorliegende Aktdarstellung stammt aus Paps Lehrtätigkeit an Ittens Kunstschule in Berlin zwischen 1927 und 1933. - Die oberen Ecken leicht knitterspurig. Vereinzelte Randläsuren.

    Gyula Pap (Orosháza 1899 - 1983 Budapest) Stehender männlicher Akt. Öl auf Leinwand. 1927. Verso signiert u. datiert. Provenienz: Vom Vorbesitzer direkt im Atelier des Künstlers erworben. - Als Schüler der privaten Kunstschule von Johannes Itten in Wien folgte Pap diesem 1920 ans Bauhaus in Weimar, wo Itten die Metallwerkstatt leitete. Aufgrund der Auseinandersetzungen um die zukünftige Ausrichtung des Bauhauses verließ Pap 1923 Weimar. Nach einem Aufenthalt in Siebenbürgen wurde er 1927 von Itten an dessen private Kunstschule nach Berlin geholt, in der er bis 1933 eine Malklasse und das Aktzeichnen leitete. Vorliegender Akt stammt aus dieser Berliner Zeit. Nach der Machtübernahme der Nationalsozialisten kehrte Pap nach Ungarn zurück, wo er Kontakt zu Sándor Bortnyik, Erno Kállai und Lajos Kassák hatte. Von 1949 bis 1962 war Pap Professor an der Hochschule für Bildende Kunst in Budapest. - Leichtes Craquelé. Der Rand mit vereinzelten Farbverlusten.
