AD: ART CONSIGNMENTS WANTED. CONTACT US Clyde Hager Owes (California, 1925 - 2004) Clyde Hager Owes was born on May 20, 1925. He became known for his impressionist seascapes, landscapes, still life paintings and for his marine images. After spending four years in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific, Owes continued his art education at the Hollywood Art Center. Although he did landscapes and sports subjects, it was quickly apparent that seascapes were both his and his collectors’ main interest. His sunsets are just as they appear out of his studio window on the beautiful Central Coast shoreline. After moving there Owes became and remained active in the art communities of San Luis Obispo, Pismo Beach and Los Olivos, California. His paintings were widely exhibited in local venues and Galleries along the Central Coast. Owes was involved in many one-man shows and was an award winner in the National Arts for the Parks exhibitions in 1995, 2001 and 2004. He was an artist member of the International Society of Marine Painters and the Oil Painters of America. Clyde Owes passed away in Pismo Beach, California on August 19, 2004.
