Oorschot, J.W. van (1890-1952). (Full length portrait of General P.J.H. van der Palm on the beach). Watercolour, 25,8x17,6 cm., signed "Van Oorschot 1929", framed. - Sl. foxed and yellowed. = This portrait was probably presented in 1929 to general P.J.H. van der Palm at the end of his tenure as Chief of the general staff of the Dutch army. Attached on verso is an envelope containing a menu card "29e Jaarlijksche maaltijd van den Generalen Staf.", typescript seating order and list of manuscript signatures of the attendees. The artist was also an officer and later became a lieutenant general in the Dutch army.
