Okamoto was a print artist active during the Showa Period (1926-1989). He attended Tokyo University of Fine Arts, working mainly in etching and aquatint. He is known for his masterful landscapes, whether black-and-white or bursting with color. Paper lightly toned. Not examined out of frame. Good condition.

A beautiful etching of a country Japanese house by Shogo Okamoto (1920-2001). Okamoto studied at Tokyo University of Fine Arts and was an active printmaker during the Showa Period (1926-1989). He worked mainly in etching and aquatint. He has exhibited internationally and in his later years became a professor of print making in China. Etching measures 18x29cm and paper measures 30x44cm. On the bottom right Okamoto has signed, dated and numbered 40/120 and in the centre they have signed with Japanese characters. Small stain to top right corner.
