Rachel O’Hara - Artist

Every since I can remember, I have been drawing. If it wasn’t a caricature of my father snoring in his armchair, it was probably a group of racing cyclists exploding for the line in a sprint finish. Whether it is a talent or just a way of seeing things, I don’t know. It is however, definitely a passion.

I am a self-taught artist who mainly uses the medium of acrylic, but depending on the theme I also use pastels, watercolours in addition to pen and pencil. I love the creative aspect of painting and watching an image evolve from a blank canvas.

I grew up near Howth in North Dublin but now live in Carlow with my husband and 2 children. The Irish climate is a source of ever-changing light and our beautiful rural setting at the foot of Mount Leinster is a constant reminder of the natural beauty of this country. Inspiration is a plenty!

If you would like to contact me for commission work or indeed just to ask about any of the works you see here, you can email me at: rachohara@gmail.com
