      Oestreicher, Oskar. Gekenterter Dreimaster mit drei Nixen am Beiboot. Öl auf Holz, unten rechts signiert. 55,5 x 66 cm. 19. bzw. 20. Jh. -- Die am Strand havarierte Galeone, vermutlich ein Piratenschiff, ist schwer in Mitleidenschaft gezogen, alle drei Maste sind gebrochen, das Schiff ist vollkommen manövrierunfähig. Von der Besatzung ist niemand erkennbar, offenbar hat sie das Schiff bereits verlassen. Lediglich drei Nixen sind portraitiert, die sich am heruntergelassenen Beiboot vergnügen. – An den Rändern bestoßen und mit Farbabplatzungen. Leicht berieben und teils mit kleinen Kratzspuren, etwas verbräunt.

This work was presumably created by the painter Oskar Oestreicher in the beginning of the 20th century, who used to work as an illustrator for the Munich magazines 'Simplicissimus' and 'Jugend' This painting, executed in oil on cardboard, was very likely created by the painter Oskar Oestreicher in 1910. Painted in loose brushwork this landscape composition appears stylistically influenced by Impressionism and is furthermore characterized by the use of harmonious colors. The painting is signed and dated lower right in brown '1910 Oestreicher'. It is in very good overall condition. The painting measures 28 x 35.5 cm, the framed dimensions are 40 x 47 cm. Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
