Frame size: 24 1/2 in. x 43 in. Measurements: Height: by sight 15 3/4 in. x Width: 32 3/4 in. Condition: Good condition, not viewed out of frame, sunfaded. Wear to edges of frame.     Double-sided painting by Augusta Oelschig (Georgia, 1918-2000) CITY ABSTRACTION, c.1950 b/w SUNFLOWERS, c.1960 oil on Masonite, framed, signed lower right H28 3/4" W41 3/4" Provenance: Pelham Manor, New York private collection Other Notes: In 1948 Oelschig and her husband moved to New York City, a city in which Abstract Expressionism was at its height. Oelschig most probably completed the cityscape portion of this painting at this time. The sunflower still life was painted some time later. Another version of the still life in similar size is in the collection of the Morris Museum of Art in Augusta, Georgia.
