      PORTRAIT OF THE GREAT LAKES STEAMER SENECA BY VINCENT DOUGLAS NICKERSON (OHIO, 1844-1910). Gouache on paper, signed lower right and dated 1889. Exceptionally detailed depiction of the the Seneca flying the US flag. 18"h. 30"w., in a period frame, 29 1/2"h. 41 1/2"w. The steamer Seneca plied the waters of Lake Erie in the late 19th and early 20th century and was owned by the Lehigh Valley Railroad.
