Ha vissuto in campagna per tutta la sua vita e il suo lavoro è notoriamente incentrato sullo stile di vita rurale e sulla natura che ne è parte integrante. Mary Newcomb è entrata tardi nel mondo dell'arte, ma da sempre è stata interessata alla natura.
