    Two works by Barbara Nessim (American, b. 1939): artist's proof etching and aquatint, 1960, abstract depiction of figures, rosary, and mobile in disjointed room interior, signed and dated in pencil LR, ss: 3" h. x 4 1/8" w.; second, "Maybe I can make it work", June 1967, ink and watercolor on paper showing woman in orange dress tilting back in chair, signed, dated, and titled along lower margin, mat burn, severe toning to mat, ss: 11 3/4" h. x 8 5/8" w., both works matted and framed under glass, neither examined out of frame. [From the Samuel Magdoff Collection. After serving as an Army captain during WWII, Magdoff pioneered connecting art and animation technology as President of Elektra Films in New York. He was President of the Film Producers Association of New York, and a member of the Art Directors Club. Magdoff went on to be the Associate Dean of Continuing Education at the Parsons School of Design. He died in 2006 at the age of 90.]
