BILL NEBEKER "HEAR ME THIS DAY" BRONZE SCULPTURE

    Est: -

Bill Nebeker (Born 1942) "Hear Me This Day" Bronze Sculpture. The historic era when American frontier lands were flooded by enormous numbers of European settlers, caused great change, suffering and cultural destruction to many Native peoples. Indian tribes and many settlers tried to make compromises during attempts at negotiating treaties. However, there are many accounts of these treaties being broken by settlers as they took land which had been given to the Indians by the American government. In this sculpture Bill portrays a proud Cheyenne warrior who has had “ENOUGH!” He has heard too many promises which were later broken, but will attempt peace one last time, but demands that those who are negotiating understand they must . . . . HEAR ME THIS DAY!! Known for his detailed, well researched sculpture of authentic depiction of the historical American West in the tradition of Charles Russell and Frederic Remington, Bill Nebeker of Prescott, Arizona has been a member of the Cowboy Artists of America since 1978. BILL NEBEKER "PROVE IT" BRONZE SCULPTURE

    Est: -

Bill Nebeker (Born 1942) "Prove It" Bronze Sculpture. One of Bill’s favorite movies is the classic western drama, “SHANE”. As kids of the 1950’s, Shane was known as the mysterious lone hero, the family who settled on the grassy valley in the shadow of the majestic Tetons of Wyoming, the little boy who idolized Shane and the scary looking classic “gunfighter” who terrorized all of them. Being raised in the historic Old West town of Prescott, AZ, where Doc Holiday and Wyatt Earp lived and gambled in the famous Palace Saloon, Bill often heard stories about these and other local heroes and gunfighters. With this sculpture the artist transports us back to those larger than life myths & legends of a long ago place and time, as we imagine this gunfighter as he gives the challenge, “prove it!” Known for his detailed, well researched sculpture of authentic depiction of the historical American West in the tradition of Charles Russell and Frederic Remington, Bill Nebeker of Prescott, Arizona has been a member of the Cowboy Artists of America since 1978. Among his honors at annual exhibitions of the CAA are the Sculpture Award, Gold in 1989 and Silver in 1985; and Kiekhofer Award for Best of Show, 1989.
