    SONIA NATRA b. 1925 Born 1925 in Bucarest, Romania (Romanian/Israeli) Title: Composition, 1977 Technique: Original Hand Signed and Inscribed Etching with hand-colouring in watercolor on paper Size: 36 x 49.5 cm / 14.2 x 19.5 in Additional Information: This Etching is hand signed by the artist "Sinia Natra" in the lower right margin as well as hand dated next to the signature '77 (1977). It is also Hand inscribed "A.P" (Artist Proof) in the lower left margin. This is a unique work as it is hand colored in watercolor by the artist. All the colors purple, yellow, green) were applied by hand by the artist. --- Sonia Natra was born in Bucharest, Romania in 1925. She is a Painter, Sculptor, Graphic Artist, & Photographer. She immigrated to Israel in 1961. Studies: National Academy for Art, Bucharest; further studies, Czechoslovakia, France, Italy and U.S.A.; Tel Aviv University, pedagogy and psychology. T eaching: Avni Institute, Tel Aviv; Mizrachi Art Teachers Seminary; Institute of Plastic Arts, Bat Yam; WIZO France Institute; Art Teachers College, Ramat Hasharon. Prizes: 1957 International Sculpture Exhibition, Moscow; 1959 Artist of the Year, Romania; 1980 Haifa Museum, Distinction for Graphics; 1984 Israel Engravers, Tel Aviv; 1984Trophy, Naples Academy of Art and Photography, Visiting Artist Award; 1984 Rodino Centre, Naples, Medal of Distinction; 1986 Gold Medal and title of Honoured Visitor, Artistes de France; 1986 Lutece International Academy, Paris, Bronze Medal; 1988 "Rose of France", Artistes de France, Paris; 1990 Artistes de France Exhibitiion, Quebec, Canada; 1992 Association of French Artists, Diploma of Distinction; 1993 Lutec Academy of Arts and Literature, Paris, Gold Medal for Painting and Photography and Silver Medal for Poetry; 1997 Gold Medal, Visual Arts, A.I.L. Her works have been exhibited at and acquired by museums in Israel and abroad. Lives in Tel Aviv. Condition: Good condition, discoloration of the paper (in the margins and verso) scattered foxing.
