    Jean Denis Nargeot (19th century): Parisian Ladies' Fashion, c. 1834, Steel engraving Technique: Hand colored Steel engraving on Paper Date: c. 1834 Description: Inscribed above: "257° 1834 Costumes Parisiene 3210", inscribed below: "Lanté del Nargeot sculp.", below: "Capote en pou de soie garnie de ruche-Robe de foulard et de pou de soie damasse-Mantelet de tulle garni de rubana Journal de Dames Rue de Heldeo Chaussée d`Antin". Two ladies present their wide dresses from the front and the back, respectively. Over the dresses they wear a cloak which reaches to the waist at the back, is laced at the front and falls far down in a narrow strip over the skirt. Waldher del.", "La jolie polonaise". Date: 19th century Description: Portrait of a young woman in 3/4 profile. Dressed in an elegant, pearl-embroidered robe, she wears an elaborate headdress with feather and a brooch. Around her neck she wears a three-strand pearl necklace, a stole surrounds her shoulders. The young, elegant woman looks attentively in the direction of the onlookers.
