He won a gold award for the SP Setia Art Fair Penang in 2001. He is also the recipient of Pesta Pulau Pinang prizes in 1993, 1994 and 1997. Loo is a member of the Penang Art Society, Penang Watercolour Society, Angkatan Pelukis Kedah and Central Kedah Art Society.
