Music was a strong inspiration for Myslbek, he made 28 sculpture studies of music during 16-year creative proces. Condition A. Josef Václav Myslbek (1848-1922) HUDBA návrh okolo 1900 Přípravná studie k plastice Hudba, patinovaný bronz, v. 65,5 cm, značeno na plintu „J. V. MYSLBEK“. Hudba představovala pro Myslbeka výzvu se silnou inspirací, zkoumal možnosti jejího sochařského ztvárnění podle svého zvyku velmi důkladně, během 16letého tvůrčího procesu vzniklo celkem osmadvacet sochařských skic. Stav A. Nejvýznamnější český sochař období přelomu 19. a 20. století, představitel monumentálního realismu, zakladatel novodobého českého sochařství. V letech 1864–1866 se učil v dílně T. Seidana, pomáhal mu při realizaci zakázky na sochy pro vídeňský Arsenal. Ve Vídni se seznámil s V. Levým, v letech 1867-1870 pak pracoval v jeho ateliéru. Mezi léty 1868-1872 studoval malířství na pražské akademii u J. M. Trenkwalda. V letech 1872–1873 absolvoval studijní pobyt v Německu, v Drážďanech pracoval v ateliéru E. J. Hähnela. Po návratu si roku 1873 v Praze zařídil vlastní sochařskou dílnu. Roku 1878 uskutečnil ještě cestu do Paříže, kde se v Louvru seznámil s moderním francouzským sochařstvím. V letech 1885-1896 působil jako profesor sochařství na Uměleckoprůmyslové škole, roku 1896 byl povolán k založení sochařského ateliéru na Akademii, kde pak působil až do roku 1919 a vychoval řadu význačných sochařů (O. Švec, H. Masaryk, Q. Kocian, B. Kafka, L. Kofránek, J. Štursa, O. Španiel, J. Brůha, K. Dvořák, K. Pokorný, B. Benda). Josef Václav Myslbek (1848-1922) MUSIK Entwurf ca. 1895 Vorbereitende Studie für die berühmte Plastik Musik, patinierte Bronze, H. 65,5 cm, auf der Basis gezeichnet: "J. V. MYSLBEK". Musik war für Myslbek eine Herausforderung mit einer starken Inspiration, er erforschte die Möglichkeiten ihrer bildhauerischen Interpretation von seiner Gewohnheit sehr sorgfältig. Während des 16-jährigen Kreativprozesses entstanden insgesamt 22 Skulpturenskizzen. Zustand A.
