Signed and inscribed "imp." in pencil, lower right. A brilliant, richly-inked impression with all the delicate vertical lines of rain distinct, with very strong contrasts and no sign of wear. According to McCarron, "The Thirty-fourth Street Armory at Park Avenue, now demolished, is shown in the print at right. It was a few blocks from Lewis' studio at 145 East Thirty-fourth Street. Lewis printed some impressions of Rain on Murray Hill in green ink that conveys a particularly strong sense of dampness." McCarron 75.
