Switch Hit Kid - fantastic Mickey Mantle original artwork by Willard Mullin c.1952.

        Est: $1,000 - $1,500

Switch Hit Kid - fantastic Mickey Mantle original artwork by Willard Mullin c.1952. Large format (16.5"x23") original artwork is signed "Willard Mullin" in the lower left. His famed "Bum" character appears on the opposite side with a "Why th' bum don't even know is he right or lef' hanted!" word bubble. To his left is a large likeness of Mickey Mantle, shown during his second season with the Yankees. Text relates to his injury in Game (2) of 1951 World Series (one which would plague him throughout the rest of his career) and fore coming appearance in the 1952 Series which would mark the Yankees 4th consecutive Championship title. Typical light toning throughout and there are a number of production related markings and some areas of discoloration (these are also likely the result of the piece being prepared for use in print).
