      Blühende Ananas umgeben von Insekten. Handkolorierter Kupferstich nach Maria Sibylla Merian. 46 x 34 cm. (1719). Aus Maria Sybilla Merians Metamorphosis insectorum Surinamensium (Verwandlung der surinamischen Insekten). Ganz ausgezeichneter Druck mit dem Namen des Künstlers, aber vor dem Wort "Ananas" unten rechts. Mit schmalem Rand, rechts mit sehr feinem Rändchen um die Plattenkante, die Farbe frisch und leuchtend erhalten. Geringe Alters- und Gebrauchsspuren,oben links kleine Rostspuren einer Heftklammer, kleine Bleistiftannotationen, sonst sehr gut erhalten.
