        (American Italian 1912 -1992) Double sided original watercolor & ink paintings by Joseph Mugnaini. Best known for this collaboration with Ray Bradbury. His illustrations appear in many of Bradbury's books. SIZE: Both 25 x 36" overall 31 x 43". Housed under glass in Mid-Century period frame. 1 of the paintings is signed LR partially hidden beneath frame, the other we cannot see signature but is apparently signed as well. Images appear to be good, some foxing spots in places. Not examined out of frame. BIO: Joseph Anthony Mugnaini, painter, printmaker, author, illustrator, and educator, immigrated from Italy with his family. Author of five books on art techniques and materials, he is best known as being the primary illustrator of the science fiction books of Ray Bradbury. His work were included in the annual National Exhibition of Prints at the Library of Congress and exhibited in prominent museums such as the British Museum, L.A. County Museum & Norton Simon Museum.

Accompanied by the printing plates for the artwork. Plates are made of metal with a wooden backing and differ slightly from one another. Love, RAY''. Mugnaini also pays tribute to Mrs. Bradbury on this print, ''Mag, you inspire''. Indeed, Bradbury's wife is credited with enabling his seminal career by taking on the role of breadwinner early in their marriage so he could spend his days writing.
