Armin Münch studied from 1950 to 1955 at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts. In 1955 he moved to Rostock. From 1958 to 1960 he was a master student at the German Academy of Arts in Berlin (East) under Hans Theo Richter, Max Schwimmer and Josef Hegenbarth. From 1960 to 1970 he lived as a freelance artist in Rostock and created during this time also his most famous graphic prints cycles, including: "Faust-Mephisto". From the 1970s, Armin Münch took on various teaching duties as a lecturer at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee (from 1970), as a professor at the Institute for Art Education at Greifswald University (1976 - 1991) and at the University of Rostock (1996 - 2000). - Armin Münch is one of the most important German draughtsmen and graphic designers of the present day. A large part of his artistic work - more than 16,000 original drawings - he handed in 2001 the University of Rostock.
