Moser" Framed Overall dimensions: 39 x 45,5 cm Very good condition This fine water colour shows one of the few interiors by the Viennese water colourist Richard Moser. He shows a comfortably furnished room in all its details: a large open window on the left wall, a washing stand on the opposite wall. On the back wall to the left of the window stands a bed in the corner and a day bed stands on the right side in front of the window. A pair of matching wardrobes completes the furnishing. The artist has painted every detail, every knothole in the pieces of furniture, every shadow and each line as if this was a photo. Especially the different materials seem to be tangible; one can recognize the wood, cloth, marble, porcelain and even the shining brass of the lamp. Water colours of such a high quality are rare and give proof of this artist's genius. The water colour is in very good condition. The overall dimensions measure 38.5 x 45.5 cm, the dimensions of the watercolour measure 22 x 29 cm. The water colour is signed in the lower right "R. MOSER". He concentrated on water colours depicting views of the old Vienna, veduta and architectural paintings. Many of his atmospheric paintings are now in the Vienna Museum.
