      John Charles Morris (England, fl. 1851-1889) oil on canvas landscape painting depicting a shaded wooded glen rendered in cool greens and browns with six recumbent sheep on a wide path, a small, sunlit meadow visible at the center of the background. Signed "J Morris" lower right. Printed label with artist information, possible title "Glen with Sheep," date 1860, medium, dimensions, and provenance with written inscriptions and framer's stamp, en verso of frame. Housed in a molded giltwood frame with tan matte. Sight: 11 5/8" H x 19 1/2" W. Framed: 15 5/8" H x 23 3/4" W.
