      LARGE ASSEMBLAGE OF RMS QUEEN MARY ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS, RENDERINGS AND PLANS; Morris & O'Connor, N.Y., Architects; the renderings of various interior sections of the ship comprising approximately 156 loose, unmounted drawings, 11 large scale mounted drawings, 1 framed drawing, 1 blue print booklet, and 2 rolls of miscellaneous blue prints (brittle and torn); some drawings bearing dates 1932-1934; together with RELATED QUEEN MARY EPHEMERA, including a FRAMED PHOTOGRAPH, titled The "534" Ready for Launching, by Stewart Bale, Liverpool and a DINING TABLE BELL Note: Between 1915 and 1930 Benjamin Wistar Morris (1870-1944) designed the Cunard Steamship Company Building in New York. Due to the success of this project, he was asked by Sir Percy Bates to collaborate on the design of the RMS Queen Mary. Benjamin Morris was asked to "incorporate an element of American style and grandeur" to the ship and his duties included establishing the specifications for the interior design of the major public rooms and corridors and selecting the manufacturers and artists to complete the work

Queen Elizabeth Promenade Deck and "C" deck the first a freehand rendering in ink over a pencil tracing for the layout of Promenade deck; the second a plan view, in scale, for the main dining room in pencil on "C" deck, and dated Nov. 14th 1936; the third an overall plan view in scale of the Promenade deck, marked "Void" and with further notations "see later drawing" and "sun deck to be revised and coordinated with suggested revision"; the fourth an overall plan view in scale, in pencil of the Promenade deck - Scheme A, dated Nov. 6th 1936 as revised Nov. 15th 1936. pencil on tissue paper each 12 x 43 in. The first a very preliminary plan view, free hand drawing in pencil, working on the concept for the Promenade Deck; the second another free hand concept drawing in pencil showing a circular Ball Room where the Observation Lounge would eventually be; the third is a near final version of the Promenade Deck showing the Observation Lounge, Ball Room and Cafe in ink over pencil, to scale and signed with the initials "BWM" and date "London - 18th Nov. 1936; the fourth is a scale sketch in pencil of the Dining Saloon - Vertical Service on "B" deck. pencil and pen on tissue paper 11 x 34¾ in.
