      An original antique oil painting on board, attributed to George Morley (English, 1831-1889. Titled, "Les Jeunes Cousins" ("The Young Cousins"). A figural genre work depicting an idyllic country landscape with flora and seated child figures wearing rustic Late Georgian style costume. No apparent signature: Frame bears a brass plate with title and artist name inscribed. Presented in an ornate gilt wood frame. Work Size: 18 x 15 in. Dimensions: 24 X 20 X 2 in. Condition: Good overall condition having age related surface wear, and evidence of craquelure throughout. Frame having moderate wear to edges and corners and loss to bottom.       George Morley (English, 1832-1863) oil on canvas painting depicting a gentleman wearing a top hat, ascot, and red waistcoat mounted on a horse with a groom beside him holding the reigns of another horse painted in profile with a docked tail, with numerous riders in the distant landscape under a gray and pink sunset, signed and dated "1840" to lower right, housed in a giltwood frame with floral border and titled in plaque "A Gentleman with a Horse and Groom." Provenance: Property from an estate at 234 E 61st Street. Sold Sotheby's, New York, 5 December 2008, Sale 8496, lot 70 Image: 24.5" H x 29" W; frame: 32.25" H x 37" W x 2.5" D.
